Q&A with Arpi Tavil-Shatelyan

Q. What experience / expertise do you bring to Luminous?

A. Healthcare experience from both industry and patient care perspectives, and public health expertise.

Q. What types of projects do you find most rewarding and why?

A. I find patient engagement projects to be most rewarding and most exciting. Understanding the patient journey and perspective is a powerful way to ensure that the solutions we deliver to clients make the most impact in society.

Q. What are the big challenges / opportunities you’re seeing related to patients, life sciences and impact?

A. Health equity is an important topic in the life sciences, and it impacts all facets of the work that we do in the field. It’s an area of big challenges, but also of huge opportunities – ones that, if pursued, will help us make healthcare more accessible to marginalized and vulnerable populations. It’s one of the reasons why I am excited to be joining the Luminous team and making an impact in this space.

“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”

- Nelson Mandela

Q. What do you enjoy in your free time?

A. Outside of work, my free time is often spent with my pandemic pup Pickle – I got her in October 2020, and she’s been the best companion ever since. She looks like a teddy bear come to life, so it’s hard not to be obsessed with her at all times.
